The Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations (KCTFHR) is a non-profit human rights organization that was founded in February 1981 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho as a counter to the neo-Nazi Aryan Nations that had moved to northern Idaho from California and their associates such as a local chapter of the KKK. The group’s mission includes countering the actions of hate groups, supporting victims that have suffered various forms of malicious harassment or actual victims of hate crimes, cases involving discrimination, supporting the passage of Federal and state legislation to combat hate crimes, and funding human rights educational programs. We also consult with communities across America who face threats from hate groups.
